Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have yet to step foot inside the same ring. The result of that tango remains inconclusive.
When Mayweather’s signature confirmed the May 1 mega-fight with Shane Mosley, something became abundantly clear: Mayweather had won the PR battle.
By signing to fight Mosley, Mayweather went after the prom queen of the Welterweight division. Pacquiao’s next opponent, Joshua Clottey, is a capable sort, but he won’t be wearing the crown anytime soon.
When Mosley readily agreed to the blood testing that Pacquiao refused, it added another layer to the never-ending saga. Why does one world class fighter accept terms that another refused?
Regardless, Team Pacquiao felt like Mayweather was singling out their guy as a steroid cheat. Team Mayweather went on record as saying that any future Mayweather opponent will be subjected to rigorous blood testing. Once Mosley agreed to the terms Pacquiao refused, the PR battle had been decided. Fair or not, Pacquiao is now linked to the PED mess (despite no concrete proof that he has cheated). Mayweather, who will take blood tests as part of the Mosley contract, fights the higher-profile bout without the heir of suspicion.
In a recent statement, Mayweather discussed his decision to fight Mosley.
“This one is definitely for the fans as I wasn’t going to waste anyone’s time with a meaningless tune-up bout and asked to fight Shane immediately,” Mayweather said. “I have said ever since I came back to the sport that I only wanted to fight the best. I think Shane is one of the best, but come May 1, he still won’t be great enough to beat me. Pacquiao fights March 13, the same date he was supposed to face Mayweather. Instead of fighting the man aptly nicknamed “Money”, he fights a world-class fighter with little fan support. While 30-40,000 patrons will fill Dallas Cowboys Stadium to see Pacquiao in action against the tough Ghanaian, Mayweather won’t be far from anybody’s mind. It is the fight the world wanted to see. A vile of blood prevented that dream from becoming a reality.
While Pacquiao’s presence will loom over the Mosley bout, at least Mayweather will share the ring with an elite name and talent. In that sense, Mayweather has won. And in the court of public opinion, Pacquiao’s blood test refusal makes him, to quote Chris Rock, “Born Suspect.”

When Pacquaio has millions of fans all over the world screaming and filled with excitement during each fight, when people of all ages, class, nationalities, economic standing flock to get a glimpse of the Pacman (this includes A-list Hollywood celebrities), when mainstream media across the globe come in record numbers to cover Pacman’s fight, when Pacman is held in high regard by universally acknowledged/respected boxing jedis like AL Berstein, Bert Sugar and Tom Hauser, when even US Presidents and lawmakers publicly acknowledged they’re fans of a foreign fighter with the name Pacquaio, “then PR is totally irrelevant in Pacman’s case since he has transcended the sport. On the otherhand, PR is indispensable for FLoyd since he has to cover up his fabricated so-called boxing prowess. Their latest PR disaster is the “talking point Pacman is on steroid” which failed miserably. The reason being such fallacy was concocted by a family of convicts,drug dealers and potential rapists…

I can agree that Edwin Valeero knocks out Antonio Demarco. But Antonio Demarco has always been the under dog in his fights. In fact, Antonio Demarco has fought the much better competition. Edwin Valero is the one who has been fighting a bunch of part-time boxers, full-time taxi drivers.

I want this fight to happen! Until I see PBF inside the ring with Mosley on May 1 there is still a possibility the fight will not happen just my 2 cents.
Floyd’s “0″ will be in serious jeopardy…. But still I think it’s a bad business decision for Floyd… blowing the $40M to a Pac fight…. for a consolation Mosley fight of $10-15M with high RISK. tsk… tsk… tsk… Not an easy fight for PBF… but still very winnable for PBF because Mosley jab his way around the ring.
Hopefully Mosley will realize that jabbing PBF will be futile! Best if Mosley will walk thru PBF best punch and punch with him with all viciousness. If Mosley will come prepared for a 12 round fight and ready to chase Floyd around the ring without tiring out and fading during the Championship round, then, Mosley can most definitely win.
PBF knows Shane can hit hard and there’s a possibility that he can be hit with a haymaker and be KO’ed. So, that’s why PBF requested an immediate REMATCH clause perhaps Floyd’s skill is already slipping. But still Shane’s conditioning will be key. If 39 year old Shane does not find the fountain of youth until May 1, he might as well just dive down and flop.

Don’t count your marbles yet. The fight is not 100% sure that it’s going to happen as KFC Ployd may think of an alibi between now and May 1st to duck Mosley again. Remember he’s the Greatest Ducker of the Decade and probably of all time. He was just forced into this bout because he stupidly wiggled out of the Pacman fight.

I can’t wait to see this fight…Mayweather vs. Mosley. I don’t believe that Pac and Clottey fight is worth the PPV money. Clottey is no threat to Pac at all. Of course, Bob and Freddie will play it by saying how dangerous Clottey is and how Pac is laying his championship on the line….this is a set up from the get go. I’m glad the Mayweather team made this dirty boxer pacquiao look stupid. Champions like pacquiao have a responsibility to the sport and to their fans to do what ever it takes to make the sport fair, especially as corrupt as it is already. Pacquiao’s excuses for not taking random test are without merrit and selfish. Pac went through two bloody wars with Marquez…jumps two weight classes and all of a sudden he’s walking through and knocking out bigger opponents like they were nothing.

Geeze Louise, Mayweather is only fighting Mosely because he fell in his lap when the Haiti earthquake happened. He had no choice but to fight Mosely. Some PBF fans act like it was a brilliant marketing coup. It was by default. It aint sayin much when a 38 year old Mosely who looked like washed up crap against Mayorga, got soundly beat by Cotto, wouldn’t even fight Clotty ( yeah thats right Clotty was available he didn’t call him out) Don’t put to much stock in the Margarito win. Margarito was sleepwalking in that fight. Can you imagine how bad his head was messed up during the fight after they caught him cheating before the fight. He knew he was toast when the fight was over. He must have been distraught! Now if Maywaether fought Mosely 7 to ten years ago that would be megafight.
This fight will put you to sleep, But I will still pay $50.00 to watch if I can get 5 other guys to pitch in. Might watch it on the split screen simultaneously with sports center. We can re-focus soley on the fight if something actually happens!

It took a colossal disaster in Haiti for Floyd to reluctantly seal a fight with Mosley. On the other hand, It took Pacquiao hard work and hard work for BWAA to name him FIGHTER OF THE YEAR and FIGHTER OF THE DECADE. So Floyd was not able to turn the tide in the PR battle. Floyd tried very hard with help from his cohorts but miserably failed. Bwaa……where’s Floyd’s???

Well you can definetely blame Mayweather for the fight not happening. Floyd is going around “crusading” around about “cleaning up the sport” and saying that Pacman “refused a $25 million dollar drug test.” Floyd is so hypocritical it’s stupifying how some people buy into his garbage. Why did it have to start with MP? Why didn’t he mention anything before he “retired?” Pacman NEVER refused a drug test so get that straight people, he just refused to take the test on Floyd’s terms. Besides who the hell is Mayweather to dictate the terms of a drug test? Really who is he to do that? As far as I’m concerned Floyd REFUSED an extra $25 million from J. Jones refusing to fight in Dallas…hmmm I wonder why that is??? $25 million extra on top of what he could have made??? Now people get on the case of Pacman refusing a “$25 million dollar drug test” but at the same time people want to disregard the FACT that Floyd refused an extra $25 Million before Floyd even brought up drug testing??? How is Floyd going to turn down a $40 mill + payday on top of the extra $25 mill that J. Jones was offering and then fight a KNOWN steroid user in Shane for less money? I don’t understand the mentality behind that thinking. On top of that how do you go crusading around saying “I’m just trying to cleanup the sport” when you’re on xylocaine? Granted that xylocaine is ‘legal’ in NV and illegal throughout the rest of the states still gives you an upperhand in the fight. IMO if a boxer has to DEPEND on some form of substance that can numb your hands enabling you to throw harder and disregard the pain inflicted on your hands while also inflicting pain on the other boxer WITHOUT USING YOUR NATURAL ABILITY to do so, then I think you need to retire. What is the difference from pacquiao supposedly refusing a $25 million dollar drug test but no one talks about floyd bringing up out of nowhere a $25 million dollar unheard of request? Had floyd not done that the fight would be on so the multi million dollar drug test cannot be put on pacman when it was mayweather’s idea. Realize all this quest to clean up boxing is all because he is scared to fight pacquiao on “even terms” as he always says. Not enough people realize he is going this far to avoid a fighter. Let’s accept the fact, Mosley needs atleast the 2nd spot for the Pound for Pound King and it will also give a possibility to meet Pacquiao and to be the P4P King, so he has to agree with Floyd.

Let’s face it, it was Pacquiao who forced Mayweather to give “This one is for the fans.” crap, by signing to fight Clottey, Pacquiao put Mayweather in a corner to look for a live opponent or suffer the consequence of being judged a dodgin, duckin master. The Tragedy that befell Haiti came as a blessing in disguise for Mayweather for if not for it Mosley would have not been available since he was scheduled to fight Andre Berto whose family is from Haiti. Lucky B4$t4rd, had the Mosley-Berto fight pushed thru, Mayweather would have been forced to fight, Paul Williams or another Midget and he would have had a hard time choosing which opponent he will have, come May 1.
But do not sing praises for Mayweather just yet, I feel that this is just an orchestrated scam that the Mayweather camp and Golden boy is trying to pull before our very eyes. This Mosely-Mayweather is just announced to take the thunder out of the Pacquaio-Clottey fight and nothing more. Believe as I say, that after the Pacquiao Clottey fight, mayweather will get injured and then the fight will be cancelled. Memories of Juanma-Mayweather fight coming back, you bet!

Nobody in their right mind would throw a $40 million payday, both camps think the March 13 fight is too soon, both camps tested the water and felt that they can generate more revenue if the fight was held at a later date. Both fighters would want to get their retirement pay and they know that this is the only fight that will get them that…BTW, its boxing, done inside the ring, where blood and sweat is spilled, and not saliva or ink spilling…It’s Manny’s fists that does the PR job for him.

It is never brought to attention but, NSAC said Pacman is clean for 10 years already, then please investigate the NSAC smart guys, The result is with the NSAC what are they waiting for.., scrutinize it now! If they will do that then it is the proper way to do it. If they only blame Pacman, then it is about racial discrimination. Now that the fight between Mosley & Mayweather seems to happen, we want to see a LIVE MEDIA COVERAGE of the Random Blood testing between the two boring fighters. We all know that Shame Mosley is the part owner of the GBP Promotions and we suspect that everything will be SET-UP by the people of GBP Promotion. We are in doubt if both fighters will do the Random blood testing 14 days before the fight. We suspect that they will make it appear that they will do it but the truth is that they will do a Random blood testing 30 days before the fight. There will be conspiracy with the help of Mr. David Howman who is the Director General of WADA and at the same time a best friend of Gayweather. mayweather is walking his talk. He wants full-blown testing where it belongs in combat sports. He is setting an example and xylocaine would be tested for under olympic standards – thats the reality and xylocaine isn’t a big deal, its an anti-inflammatory to numb his hands, more direct than cortizone.
All fighters, not just pacq should go through full testing – mayweather is taking these tests too. If pacquio is clean – one good reason why he won’t submit to that level of testing – mayweather is.

Evan . . you are making a cardinal mistake insinuating or rather imposing your self belief to mirror the rest of the boxing public. Just look at the various websites, any on-line polls between Pac vs Mayweather, Pac has been winning approx 70% – 80%.
Too early to call this a win . . and the old adage that “all roads lead to Mayweather”, is passe’! Who is the best boxer for 2009? who is the best boxer for the Decade? voted by the Boxing Writers Association of America (independent group of writers) . . its Pacquiao by a mile!

So this is just a PR battle. All the defamation, all the acting, all the accusation against pacman. Ok Mayweather won the the PR so what? he can’t fight pacman, we will loose to pacman, pacman has all the top awards, he’s only second to pacman. Fight Mosley or Ivan Calderon. Fight the big show, a heavy weight or a fly weight who cares. You will not be the best unless you beat the best and Pacman is the boxer of the decade. What mexican fighter has he demolsihed? Morales knocked his ass out in there first fight and was not the same Morales in their second (Not to mention Morales has problems making weight. Pac also went through two bloody wars with Marques and some people thought he did enough to win both fights. That doesn’t sound like demolished to me. Pac is on drugs…the proof is in the refusal to take random accurate testing.

Pac fans should fall back a little. The article is about public relations (i.e. how one manages public image). What’s the big deal in admitting that Mayweather outfoxed the Pac camp? Assuming Team PAc has the truth on their side, they didn’t handle the thing very well. If they wanted to make Mayweather look like a fool and lose money, Paq could have submitted himself to a blood test the very day Mayweather brought it up in negotiations and then call the fight off. We would be exactly where we are now, no big payday for Mayweather but with the public assured that the Pac man is a clean fighter. Instead we have no big fight, Mayweather is lined up to fight someone the street has accused him of dodging AND he has introduced random and accurate drug testing to the top ranks of boxing. Floydroids increase in weight is very suspicious..Both Pacman and Floydroids weight at 106 pound whey they were 16 years old..Now, the heaviest recorded weight to date for Pacman was 148 pounds(42 pounds diff) while Floyroids weight 168 pounds(62 pounds diff).In short, Floydorids weight is 20 pounds heavier compared to Pacman at fight night.Who’s the one who increase the weight faster?who’s suspicious?

The mere presence of Manny Pacquiao knocked out Floyd Mayweather’s self-proclaimed nickname of “Money.” The pound-for-pound pretender cackled for years about how he was Money Mayweather and, If it makes dollars it makes sense. $200 million liquid.
Mark Kriegel of Foxsports.com asked the pound-for-pound fraud if he was disappointed the big money fight with Manny Pacquiao did not come off. (Keep in mind how many times advisor/liar Leonard Ellerbe told the media how eager Floyd was to fight Manny Pacquiao.) “Not at all. Not at all. Not at all,” repeated Mayweather three times. “Because I’m happy within myself. The thing is, what people fail to realize – money don’t make me. I make money. You know what I’m sayin? Money doesn’t define what Floyd Mayweather is. (He’s right about that – ducking does.) Because if I was money-hungry I would say, I don’t care what a fighter is taking. I don’t care if a fighter takes a drug test or not. Let me fight. I just want to get the money. I stand down and behind what’s right.”
Floyd “I’m not money-hungry” Mayweather is full of you know what, once again. He wants the money but he doesn’t want the money if it means he has to get brutally abused and knocked out by Manny Pacquiao. Because all the money in the world couldn’t hide those photos, images and videos of Mayweather getting violently knocked out by Manny Pacquiao.
“I don’t care what the critics say. Floyd Mayweather fights for Floyd Mayweather,” he also said earlier in the interview. “I live my life for myself and for my family. When it’s all said and done, the critics aren’t gonna pay – come to my house and pay my bills. And I just do what I do.”
Kriegel asked Mayweather when he will beat Pacquiao, assuming like most fans that the fight will eventually come off. But Floyd isn’t as eager as Ellerbe claimed he was. “Whenever it happens, if it happens,” said Mayweather. “With or without Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather is okay.”
Wait a second. Doesn’t Floyd want Pacquiao to agree to the 14 days? Shouldn’t the fraud be saying, As soon as Manny Pacquiao agrees to a random test 14 days before the fight?
Why doesn’t Floyd want an easy $40 million payday for a fight he says would be easy because Pacquiao is one-dimensional?
It’s hard to keep up with all the lies this fraud and his team tell the media. But one thing I am sure of: Fraud Mayweather knows he better avoid Manny Pacquiao at all costs if he wants to keep his career going. The humble shall be exalted and the exalted shall be humbled. Manny Pacquiao is his worst nightmare.
Mayweather never wanted to fight Pacquiao and now it’s becoming clear he never will fight Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao is just too good, too dangerous. All the money in the world ain’t worth getting slaughtered by a Filipino for the whole wide world to see.
This interview is a new clue for the uninformed and deceived. Manny Pacquiao has now knocked out “Money” from the name and persona of Floyd Mayweather without even having to throw a single punch. Just imagine how he’d re-arrange Floyd’s being if he ever got him in a ring. Unfortunately, for many boxing fans, the fight will never happen. All the money, all the influence and power from HBO and Golden Boy are not enough to push a coward into the ring against Manny Pacquiao.

Cotto, Shane, ESPN, Teddy Atlas, Malignagi and even the director of WADA drug testing say that they can not understand Pac’s refusal to take the random testing, Even when Floyd allowed the 14 cut off date because Pac “feels weak when they take his blood. Again Floyd showing his willingess to fight. These are the facts.
Pacquiao has a responsibility as a “so called Champion” to take this test and do his share in promoting safe and fairness in boxing and what does he do. Give us all nothing but excuses and points the blame at Golden Boy Productions. These are the facts.
