Super Bantamweight Francisco Rodriguez passed away from injuries suffered in his bout with Teon Kennedy Friday night at the Blue Horizon in Philadelphia.
Rodriguez was knocked out in 10th round of a the scheduled 12-round contest. According to Philadelphia scribe Bernard Fernandez, this the first death attributed to boxing injuries in Philadelphia in 31 years. Rodriguez leaves behind a wife and young daughter.
His final mark stands at 14-3-1.
